Series adapted from the James Patterson novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider, and Tyler Perry in the title role in 2012’s Alex Cross, which flopped at the box office and caused Lionsgate to cancel the planned sequel Double Cross. When I was a truck driver, I drove on the highway a lot and listened to James Patterson’s Alix Cross, but I don’t remember the story or stories that this series was based on.
This Detective Cross actually seemed different to me than I remembered him
In fact, I think I was in his years when he worked for the government instead of the city police. Still.
They seemed to condense too many stories
This series had one major flaw for me. Sometimes it was confusing to see the connections.
Other people have noted here how different Morgan Freeman’s portrayal of Cross was
On top of that, the main villain was almost a supervillain because he was so prepared to get to anyone at any time. I agree and would also like to see this Cross actually act more intelligently most of the time and not just in spurts.
