The Higman Family Store and Norma and Nick’s Grill are actually family-owned businesses
Narrative
Die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan Alana Higman and her family are competing to win the team’s Fan of the Year, as judged by Fan Engagement Director Derrick. Fill Yourself with Joy – This year’s lineup of holiday-themed romantic movies you can watch from home follows. The film was shot in the historic Independence Square in Independence, Missouri, and it actually looks like it’s open year-round.
And I’m not a fan of the Chiefs
The square is also decorated with Christmas lights, just like in the movie. The “live” for this movie is updated every commercial break in the movie before it. To me, they’re the current evil empire in the NFL.
I enjoyed this one
(They do have some really great players, and I use the word wicked as an exaggeration.) But I’m back to my obsession with watching at least 5 channels of every Christmas movie. It was a very different take on the usual, and it may have snowed, but there were no snowball fights or any of the other checklists for a Christmas movie. Tyler Hines and Hunter King have really good chemistry, almost what I sometimes call sizzling.
I thought the acting was a bit mixed
The story first grabbed me with the fan contest win, and then I watched the outcome of the obstacle course come to a close. Hines was his usual solid self, but understated. King’s character had not only charming qualities but also some neuroticism, especially in his total obsession with superstition.
That being said, I had mixed feelings about the ending, especially after the backstory build
(I know these feelings are a bit contradictory.) Like I said, I’m not a fan of the main characters, so I didn’t recognize many of the strangers, but there seemed to be a few.
